Third Phase of the Maternal Aid Program (MAP)

The third phase of the Maternal Aid Program (MAP) was held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Ashaiman Hospital. This was held in partnership with Black Birth Justice (BBJ) and Ashaiman Hospital focusing on counselling sessions for MAP beneficiaries and new mothers from Ashaiman Hospital. Led by health professionals from the MAP team, the sessions provided essential education to new families, including both mothers and fathers. Topics covered included birth control, baby care, vaccination, postpartum depression, and self-care for mothers. Following the counselling sessions, attendees received gifts, including toiletries for both babies and mothers, as well as food items. A total of nine participants attended the event, all of whom expressed that they found significant value in the experience.
